Press Release 02-03-2009 WiROI™ Business Case Tool to Support LTE, as well as WiMAX Network Technologies Company Expanding Under New Name – Wireless 20/20 – to Serve the Broader 4G Wireless Industry. Cornwall on Hudson, NY – February 3, 2009 – WiMAX 20/20, LLC (www.wimax2020.com), a leader in WiMAX™ broadband wireless consulting and the developer of the industry leading WiROI™ Business Case Tool, today announced that its award-winning WiROI™ tool has been enhanced to support LTE, in addition to WiMAX technologies. As part of the transition, the company is changing its name to Wireless 20/20, LLC (www.wireless2020.com) and expanding its services to clients in the broader wireless industry. The company will be providing the same tools, financial models as well as strategic planning services that has given its WiMAX clients the visibility needed to make strategic decisions in the their business operations. In addition to its recognized expertise in WiMAX business case analysis, the company will support clients interested in evaluating additional 3G and 4G wireless technologies. “We believe that these technologies will co-exist in most markets and most of our clients are developing solutions and services that transcend a single technology,” said Haig Sarkissian, co-founder and Principal Consultant at Wireless 20/20. “The name change symbolizes our firm’s expansion into the broader 4G marketplace.” The WiROI™ 2.0 Business Case Analysis tool has been expanded to encompass the wider range of technologies. The same capabilities that have enabled over 25 WiMAX operators around the world to build bankable business cases have now been extended to LTE, and will be extended to HSPA, EVDO, and other wireless technologies of interest. In addition to the current support for 2.3 - 3.8 GHz frequencies, the new version of the tool will support 700 MHz - 1.8 GHz deployments. The tool evaluates the CapEx and OpEx needs of the access and core networks, builds a revenue model for the services to be offered, and returns comprehensive financial outputs including a 10 year income statement. The new version of the tool will enable operators not only to evaluate a single technology, but compare different technology deployments for their target markets. In addition to the expanded market focus and enhanced tool support, Wireless 20/20 is expanding its core team. Mr. Berge Ayvazian, Chief Strategy Officer of the Yankee Group is joining Wireless 20/20 as a Senior Advisor, and will act as a Principal Consultant on selected client engagements. “The latest release of WiROI™ will address a key requirement for vendors and operators alike – the need to develop a business case considering multiple advanced 3G and 4G technology alternatives and related scenarios regarding spectrum utilization, network architecture and service revenues,” says Berge Ayvazian. “I am delighted to assist Wireless 20/20 and its clients as the company expands to serve a broader global market.” Since the initial launch of the WiROI™ Business Case Tool in 2007, it has been used by network operators and equipment manufacturers around the world to develop comprehensive business cases, understand their financial requirements, and build a detailed 10 year income statement to gain funding from demanding financiers. Guided by customer feedback from US and global clients, the upgrades to the WiROI™ Tool include an expanded dashboard-style Graphical User Interface (GUI), side-by-side vendor and technology comparison capabilities, and the ability to model services such as VoIP, VOD and IPTV. A demonstration version of the new WiROI™ Business Case Analysis Tool can be test driven at the Wireless 20/20 website (www.wireless2020.com). The new enhanced LTE version of the tool will be demonstrated at the CelPlan Technologies booth (Booth 2B90) at the GSMA Mobile World Congress, February 16 - 19, 2009 in Barcelona.
